Erythrina herbacea - Coralbean, Cherokee bean
I got this at the DG College Stattion Round-up about 4 years ago and this is the first time it blooms. I have another on in full sun the finished blooming a couple of weeks ago.
All pretty, Jay! It's hard waiting years for the plant to get ready to bloom, but well-worth it.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
Integrity can never be taken. It can only be given, and I wasn't going to give it up to these people. Gary Mowad
I had two of the Coral Beans planted in a shady area. I moved one to a sunnier location last year and it started blooming in april, so I thought it was the sun, but the one in the shade started blooming about a month later. I guess the age of the plant was the major factor with the sun possibly affecting how soon in the year it bloomed.
