Whoever wins this raffle, if you're interested in the Brushwood Nursery roses, I can definitely put in a good word for the beauty of the Joseph's Coat rose. I was at a local nursery recently and spotted a gorgeous rose bush whose blooms were an array of different and beautiful colors, so much so that I had to stop and take a look. When I picked up the tag, it said "Joseph's Coat" and I thought that was such a fitting name for it.

I grew Joseph's Coat Rose years ago and it is very beautiful indeed!

I work for the city and I Drive around in a knuckle boom truck and pick up brush and junk that people throw away. About a month ago I found some plants and one of them is a Joseph's coat rose. I took a picture of the day I found them. I haven't planted them yet so I'll take another picture tomorrow but the first one in the black pot is the Joseph's coat rose and one next to it is a together fee hydrangea and the other two are a thornless angel rose. They look a lot better now

Good for you, plantcollector, for rescuing discarded plants!! I've done some rescuing in my time too (when I ride my bike around the neighborhood on green trash day). Here is an orchid that has been blooming for years that came from that source...

I took some new pictures of those plants today the Joseph's coat already bloomed and is fixing to bloom again I really do need to find a good spot in my yard to plant them

Most roses are tough as nails. The settlers used to tie them to their covered wagons and take them on their journeys across country to plant at their new homesteads. If they could talk, those roses must have had some amazing stories to tell. I took a cutting of a rose on an old abandoned property here. It turned out to the historic White Rose of York. It's planted on a chain link fence and blooms reliably every year without any attention at all. Love it!
