Now I'm not really expecting a definite answer on this but I'm going to ask anyway. Is it possible to use my aquarium water to water my daylily and use it as furtilizer? I know it won't be a complete furtilizer. What is everyone thoughts on this??

Absolutely. I watered my small seedling bed with the water from my tanks when I did water changes, including all the gunk from using the gravel vac. I had planted tanks.

Yes, l do it all of the time. I only have freshwater tanks, not saltwater. I would not use water from a saltwater tank.

I use fish tank water all indoor season long, mostly on my Orchids. They do well with that treatment!

I only have fresh water as well. That'll cut the water bill down a bit lol.

And as others have mentioned, it is a weak fertilizer.

Great question!

I have one too:
Does anyone have a koi pond that has a filtration system? I was wondering about the 'gunk' that I wash out of those filters onto the ground...could I use that as fertilizer, or would it be too much on the plants?
It does green up the grass where I do a washout for the daily filter, and the large bio filter I run gets cleaned monthly and gets piped underground about 70 feet away into the wood line; it would be easy to collect that into buckets.

Thanks!

I have 2 small container ponds (each is 25 gallons) in my yard that do not have filters or moving water. (I use them for my waterlilies.) I keep small mosquito fish (minnows) in them to help control the mosquito population in my yard. I have to clean those ponds out twice a year and when I do, the water from both ponds gets used for all my garden areas. The plants seem to respond favorably to it. Thumbs up

When I replace the charcoal in mine, the old charcoal gets thrown into the garden w/ the old water.
