Found this plant dying in a yard that nobody lives in and would like to nurse it back to good health.I don't know what it is can someone please help?

Variegated Japanese Aucuba (Aucuba japonica 'Variegata')
I'm not sure it it is this exact cultivar.

Yep, I agree with Musa - it's a Banana plant!

...and I just looked again...there are two plants in that pot. The Banana is the taller of the two.
