Last year I purchased a regular OT from The Lily Garden. Also last year it put up several stalks of blooms. I decided to dig up the bulb as it was in the shade. Thinking there must be several bulbs. To my surprise, there was only one large bulb that measured 6". I placed it in a 16" dia. container. Does size really matter? (Joke)Thumb of 2011-01-29/mnorberry/31d7ce

What a huge honkin' bulb. Isn't that something, three stalks? Wow. You also must have secret potion in your potting mix. Nothing full grown that I ever pot up does that well. Kudos.

It was in the ground, nothing by a little bonemeal at time of planting. Another bonemeal when it was a few inches high. The housing area that I live in was build on ranch land. Soil is hard, added some sand a few years ago. Nothing special. Its just a good quality bulb from The Lily Garden. Thanks

I don't know what actually happens when there are multiple stems per single undivided bulb, but I have had that happen with a natural dwarfish martagon before, too.
