Salvia greggii: Blazing Autumn Color

Autumn Sage (Salvia greggii) is an enthusiastic bloomer and an excellent choice for robust fall color when annuals fade. Despite its name, this mint family (Lamiaceae) species flowers in many seasons.

I love these salvias! You don't have to baby them and they reward you with lots of blooms. Hummingbirds and butterflies love them also. Today I watched while a hummingbird went from bloom to bloom on a Salvia greggi while enjoying its nectar.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
