Thread OP

Dear Sir ,
Is it right that this Nicotiana may have the name "Green Tears "?
I say it in a garden for the first time , and as I'm really found of all the varieties of Tobacco , I would like to know if there is any possibility to find seeds , and where ?
Sincerely yours ,
Marleen Verstraeten

Hello Marleen,
This particular Nicotiana is not the one I know as 'Green Tears', which to me is Nicotiana knightiana, although in photos they are very similar. I wanted to make sure they were not synonyms so I did a little quick research and it appears they are distinct species. I grew N. knightiana a few years ago and I believe the blooms may be a little bit larger and that the petals may flare a little more, but that is based solely on memory and mine is increasingly less reliable.
I enjoy the genus Nicotiana and try to grow a new one every season.
I harvested a few seeds of N. paniculata. Are you in Netherlands? I can probably send a few your way.
Alana
