There is a chicken wired to the table on my deck.
I am waiting for it to appear and am using a daily photo log to record the melt.I started on Feb 10 and today its snowing again with bitter nights for the next few days.

I'd rather have the snow cover than have it melt, get cold and have nothing to protect my plants. In Wisconsin, Spring never comes this early, but we are all so desperate for green that, when the first thaw begins, we think our Spring has sprung. Heck, last week we had temps in the 50s and there were folks wearing shorts.

So although I get tired of the season, I know it gives me and the plants some garden rest. Instead I get to watch my girls play basketball, the Badger Women play basketball and cross country ski, all of which I have come to enjoy very much. Spring is around the corner and I look forward to that too, as always. It will be here before we know it and all of those pictures of your beautiful gardens shall be shared and loved.

Hang in there Jo. Smiling

A friend of mine wears sandals (without socks) the entire year, including winter.

I love my Birks but I'm not that huge of a die hard. My feet like those nice soft wool socks...all winter, than and my lovely UGG boots. Wouldn't trade any of them. Smiling

I used to wear Birks and wool socks when I was younger. Scandinaviens do all year round.
I have my last pair. 10 years now. I just cant believe I cant wear them.
Old feet and arthritis in the toes are to blame.

I'll be glad to get the heavy boots off too. That's one thing I really hate about winter. I normally wear Bean Boots, but often the snow is too high for them, and I really hate the tall boots.

Sneakers for me all summer. Just the white canvas ones.

I can't imagine going in sandals in the winter. Some guys around here wear shorts all winter.

No, we don't wear wool all the year around. But it's great to wear in the winter. In the summertime it's too hot.
I have met a cracy man who where barfoot all year.

Sick of snow? Sick of snow???...We've been below average for the second winter in a row. I leave the state to go to Nevada for 6 days and we get 18 inches in two days right before I come back. Now, they're saying another 6-10 tonight, That will put us at average, with 2+ more months of potential snow to go...Heavy sigh...That corner that spring is right around just got a whole lot wider...Oh, sorry. Didn't answer the question...YES, I am.

I am tired of snow and the cold!
I do hope spring comes early for a change.

I liked the chicken snow melt-but looks like it has not really come where you are.

We are up to a total of 75+ inches now for the season. Supposedly already in the top ten for all recorded time. Doesn't seem like it though. I haven't been able to make many good blocks for igloo making. Back in the early '90s I did make one. I think it lasted two days before it caved in. (I didn't want to build a fire in it to ice the inside wall.) I was (am) pretty proud of myself, nonetheless.

We have a huge igloo locally. Pretty neat. But it was 3 out and blowing snow, and the guy was making blocks. No thanks.

We're up to a little over 200 inches now. No record this year. Darn.
