Maybe the BEST year ever? Was it the heavy rains we had in early summer/spring? Or was it the weeks of intense heat this summer? Only the lycoris would know!

Thank you @mutisia. After a hot summer with fewer summer blooms, this is a welcoming sight. From the street, our landscape is rather simple . The dense planting is behind the hedge, away from street view for our enjoyment in case weeds etc make it look unkempt. I planted the bulbs in the front (second picture) this spring. I am pleased with the new look from the street. Previously, these beauties were only enjoyed by us and seen by those strolling up to the front door.

They are beautiful. Thumbs up

My mom and I used to grow them. When we left Houston 15 yrs ago , we left a lot of plants behind. My mom had a huge flower bed in the middle of the yard, the new owners tore it out and park there now. Sad

Next time I move, I plan on hiring people to help me dig up and transplant what plants that are in the ground.
