Angel ... Whistling

I can't go, I'll be bringing supplies to some relief centers from the Butte fire.

I would have listed this sale earlier, but I didn't want to take anything away from the PNW sale.

It's too early for me. I hear it's a madhouse and parking is not easy.

Joe's garden at his house is kind of what you'd expect from an older Italian gardener. His beds are neat and orderly. He's got his roses all together. There's a little border along the sidewalk behind a 4' cyclone fence where he has done annuals in past years. His seedling Iris are usually out in the field behind his house (he's got an extra lot and a half), as well as his vegetable garden.. which I don't think he planted this year in Santa Cruz because of water restrictions. He's got a growing ground in Corralitos, which is about 25-30 minutes south of his house on Bay. He's got a few fruit trees there (I made jam from one of his peach trees), lots more roses and some dahlias. Joe is also very active in the local Rose Society and Dahlia Society. He's got a Dahlia that he's hybridized that is stunning. I don't know if he's got any roses of his...

Brad has visited him, and may have pictures..
