I just compared the leaf patterns on the one Cinta wanted and the one I bought and they are different plants. He did have at least 4 listed that day. Whew, I wasn't the one that cheated Cinta out of her plant. Smiling

Interesting about the "AU" in the listing Cinta was looking at. There was nothing about Australia in the listing for the plant I bought.

Alice I remember he did have 4 that night. We were kidding you when we said you stole my plant.

The plant I posted was the only listing I could find when David asked for a pic of what I was looking for. I could not find the listing I saw that night. It seems you and 3 other people snapped up the 4 plants that night. Hilarious!

I ordered one from him today and it was listed as ALOCASIA GAGEANA 'Variegata' so it is the plant that I wanted.

@ Cinta. Way cool. So you were able to secure what you wanted at a reasonable price? Can you post the Ebay page of what you ordered?

BTW - No doubt Cinta did a Google or Bing or whatever and the search engine popped up the Ebay in Australia site. They have several sites around the world.

Yes David that is what I did when you asked to see what I was looking for. I did not even notice it was overseas.

This is what I purchased. 17.00 That is not expensive to me.

Nice looking! And $17 including shipping seems reasonable. I do not have any Alocasia, do have two types of colocasia. The seller looks awesome and has some nice stuff.

My Plant arrived. It arrived a day early, in good condition and as pictured. I may end up being a Ebay stalker. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Congrats Cinta. Glad you took the step on Ebay. That Seller BTW looks like a winner as does the plant. Good luck with it.

FWIW, I have over wintered a 3 foot Colocasia 2 seasons.

I am going to have to overwinter mine indoors too. Most EE's are perfectly hardy here in 9a but the info on this one says it is unusually tender.

Thank you David. It is all your fault. Rolling on the floor laughing

I winter a lot of tropicals. My family tease me and say I probably have more soil inside than I have outside. I just wish I had more time to get it growing good outside.

Oh Alice I thought you were going to be able to grow your plant outside all winter. I will keep updating my progress. Please let me know how your plant does too.

LMAO - Note that I as in CAPITAL I am in Zone 5 B. I feel your pain. But more so. And May 12 th to Oct 12 th if I am lucky just ain't long enuff . 5 freaking months!!!!!! And 7 months with > 100 more plants inside.

Now I got that off my chest, think of the positives Rolling on the floor laughing . Lotsa fresh, clean air. Lotsa pretty things to enjoy without going thru 3 feet of snow. Friends that envy you. Rolling on the floor laughing

BUT negatives as well... Grumbling Aphids, spider mites, scale. But HEY - the plants are close so easier to tend to .... and spread the nasties. Rolling on the floor laughing

And yeah - my *Blush* fault.

I just need a darned Cheat Sheet to keep track of stuff that ain't sposed to be growing in my living space - am I sposed to water this or not? Does it go dormant or not? and so on.

I don't recall whether you start seeds indoors. Do you? By the end of February, I will have another 1,000 - 2,000 NEW/MORE plants starting in my basement. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Blinking Confused Whistling Hilarious!

Feel sorry for me yet? Heh

Ken I did not know you were on eBay

David I winter sow because I am very bad with seeds. I have over two hundred houseplants and succulents that add to my dirt problem with storing tropical plants *Blush*

For ATP members, it is better to look at the website, jot down what you have interest in, and then contact me directly @ [email protected]. That way you'll get the ATP discount and combined shipping automatically. I will quote you the price before invoicing you via PayPal. There is nothing on eBay that I don't have on my website, and my website will actually be more complete since I update it more frequently.
