I don't have too much of a mole/vole problem, but they do get some lilies. Last year I planted some of Lisa's, and some from The Lily Garden that were quite costly to me. All precious, especially Lisa's. I had read somewhere if you surround your lilies with daffodils the moles/ voles won't go past the daffs.

So I bought bags of daffs from ADR bulbs, and planted them around the precious lilies.

Result so far is no mole/ vole damage where the daffs were planted around the lilies. Some on the other lilies.

I had heard you can plant the daffs quite a ways apart, and I did about a foot or so.

Interesting theory, Polly. I have quite a lot of daffs spread out around here. I was hoping it would help deter the deer too. I always seem to have some damage (annoying, yes) but not nearly what I used to get. Glad you little experiment is showing promise. Daffs are really quite lovely in their own right too. You can get quite a variety out there these days and Lisa also had some very neat ones, which is how I started on them.
