I have Brown Turkey and Lattarulla, both produce two crops a year here in the Pacific Northwest, Williamette Valley, Oregon. Many times the second crop doesn't have enough time to ripen.
By planting them against this shed gives them an East and South exposure (all day sun), which I think helps them ripen in our cooler growing conditions.

Mary, I can give you starts from mine. I gave rooted cuttings to a neighbor 4 years ago and she actually had figs this last year.

So you brought your cuttings inside? My poor sticks have had to brave the elements... no wonder..... Sad

I had brought in tiny plants this past fall.. I was not sure if they would return for me.. so until I had back ups rooted.. I didn't want to chance it.. this year I will plant some in the ground and keep backups in the house next winter

My Lattarula seems to be just as tough as Brown Turkey.
It will be fun to see how the outdoor planting does. You might have to give it a little extra protection the first year. Once the roots really get going, they can handle colder temps.
