These bulbs usually send up flowering scape before foliage manifests itself; 2 blooms happened last month and own the foliage in pic.

Wow! I had never seen the foliage of Blood Lily before, much wider leaves than I'd expected, and attractive too. Kinda reminds me of a Birds nest fern.

Yes, locally naturalized in southeastern US (imported originally through N Carolina); known as the 'Hurricane Lily'.

Could You please be kind enough to further clarify which lycoris grows wild in US? Radiata is native to the region I belong i.e Northern Pakistan under the foot hills of western Himalayas and in main land China and India. Also Hurricane Lily refers to another plant again commonly found in the US. It is neither Nerine nor Lycoris but called oxblood lily. It comes in mainly red, pink and yellow.
