I need to take my daylily seeds out of the refrigerator to divide them up between three people. I will have to label extra Ziploc bags and count out the seeds to divide. I have many to do. I am wondering if the seeds will be harmed by coming from refrigeration, into room temps while I do the labeling and counting, and then back into the refrigerator. Will the cold, warm (room temp), and cold again harm them?

They have not all been in the frig. for three weeks yet. Should I leave them all for a FULL three weeks before dividing? Or can I do it now as long as they go back into the frig. for the remainder of the 3 weeks (or longer- til January actually).
Thank you!!

hi Sue,

I live in The Netherlands, Europe and bought seeds through the Lily Auction.
That means they were refrigerated by the sender (mostly just 48 hours), sent to Europe (about 2-3 weeks in transit), refrigerated again by me (some just 2 days, some several weeks) and then germinated without any problem Lovey dubby

I think taking them out of the fridge for a couple of hours just to re-label them will not harm them Thumbs up

I agree, just throw a little piece of paper towel in the baggie when you put them back in fridge, just in case of a little condensation.

Pam, Mayo,
Thanks. I hoped it wouldn't be a problem. I did wonder about condensation. I will put paper towel in the baggie after sorting and labeling.
I tip my hat to you.
