Beautiful! I'm feeling a little schizo lately, trying to keep up with DG, Cubits and here! Will probably let DG lapse, but there are times in the spring when I really need the plantfiles more than the 10 searches allowed... we'll see. At least I can just join then if I need to...

I have a ? Is that 10 searches in the time you are logged on or do they have a way of telling who is searching? Could you just log back in and search again?

Saw a hummingbird moth in the shrubs as I was weeding this afternoon. Perhaps it wanted shade and as the sun came out, I did also, so came inside.

Totally off topic but a few fun flower arranging ideas. I've found that Crocosmia Lucifer leaves dry with shape and color pretty much intact and the flower stalks as well. Castor bean leaves hold up for 4-5 days but suck up lots of water. The 18" leaves make an impression. Iris seed pods are great for dried flower arrangements.

Good ideas, Evan! Crocosmia seed pods are nice for dried arrangements too.

Can only take credit for the Castor bean leaf. With the last of the Callas it was pretty impressive. My mother's been using the iris pods for years and she nicked a few leaves off of the Lucifer to bring home and voila. I've been directed to leave one holly untrimmed because she must have holly boughs for Xmas. I know when to do as directed.

I agree

10 searches allowed in Plantfiles if you are NOT a subscriber of DG, correct?
I garden for the pollinators.

Yes, 10 is what I recall from before I became a member. I'm not sure about logging in and out, but I'm pretty sure it's total for the day.
