Later, in a year or two when all of us have Itohs flowering we should all post pictures of what we have as Bartzella etc. and compare these.

Alex, your yellow peony looks very similar to Bartzella. However, I don't recall mine having wiry long stems as the way your is showing in the third pic. It looks almost like the flowers are hanging. I remember the flowers on my Bartzella bloom at the foliage or just a bit higher and on very thick and straight stems.

You are right Karen. I thought so myself because I never saw anything similar on the pictures of Bartzella online. The distance between foliage and flowers are rather noticeable.

You might run yours through that site under the first Sticky?

I am adding a few basic stickies and they will stay there permanently. My goal is to have basic information regarding peonies there, grafting, planting, dividing (eventually).

from Frank and his Bartzella has long stems as well. Funny part is that mine supposed to be First Arrival as well. I guess TC peonies not only mislabeled, but have different development time frame as well.

Funny that in Southern Peony blog problem with switched Bartzella and First Arrival mentioned as well.

Did you get them from the same supplier, I wonder, Alex?

I guess someone in Planteck or similar TC producer mislabeled Bartzella with First Arrival, dissected the plant million times and thousands customers from all over North America are scratching their heads and trying to figure out what went wrong....

Bartzella is a beautiful yellow, could've been much worse!
