I have been thinking about getting some milkweed in the future, Dave, so appreciated your article. What variety do you think would survive in Tucson's environment? I would be growing it in a pot most likely. Smiling

Great article to raise awareness of the possibility of extinction of the monarch, Dave. I had no idea there were that many types of milkweed. I had a nice patch of Asclepias tuberosa milkweed, but it has diminished over time. I need to revamp that area.

Some of my daylily friends are actually taking further steps by bringing the chrysalis inside to protect it until the butterfly hatches. They have really taken up the hobby and the cause to help the monarch.

My son came and dug up 3 milkweed plants tonight. His sweetheart's daughter had found a caterpillar that needed one. Awwwww. She thought it was getting too cold, the caterpillar's timing must be off, so she brought it inside to potted milkweed.
