@hetty will be the one to help you, Mark. I don't have a clue and have never seen a plumeria rot like that.

I just don't know, Mark. I cannot imagine that this is due to the sun. All my dozens of plumeria are in full sun from spring till they come in during fall. As I said, I have never seen this happen to one of my plumeria, and I have been growing plumeria for over 25 years. I hope Hetty will have an answer. She's probably seen it all.

It's toast, Mark.... Crying and yes, it's very likely caused by sunburn. It always seems to happen in the fall when the sun is at a low angle. I have lost an entire tree that way.
At least it's not rotting and so the unaffected parts are still good, cut it up.....
sorry to not be able to give you better news... Sad

I just don't understand this "sunburn" situation. I have never seen any of my plumeria with sunburned stems. I will occasionally see it with leaves, but that's it. You would think, living in the deep south, that sunburn would be an issue here just as much as in S. CA.

Sad

I just googled it, similar to Rimfire but smaller blooms and must be a smaller tree too.

still brown but growing nicely.
