This bowling ball was covered with pieces from a real gazing ball. The gazing ball was so pretty, I just couldn't throw away the glass.

Charleen, your instructions are concise and easy to follow. Love your BB. don't have one and not sure if I'll come across one, but I'll start looking!

Thank you all. A very easy ball to do is penny's over bowling ball.
Thumb of 2011-08-13/dahtzu/205b16

Edited to add that this ball is Styrofoam, and the penny's did not stay on good.

I am so bummed! I finished gluing the glass orbs on my ball and thought I had let them set long enough. Tried to grout this afternoon and a few started dropping off!! So I have most of it done and had to leave a 4 or 5" area un-grouted. Question can I go back and re-grout later? Also...the liquid nails is the clear ....right?

The ones I saw at Lowes, one was clear, which I got and the other was white. If you get the white and used the flatback gems the color shows thru. that is why I got clear. You will have to clean the area and re apply your gems. You can take a couple of days to get it done. Just mix grout in small batches so you won't waste it.

Thanks Charleen! I got the clear, made sense to me...just checking. First had a stained glass glue but it was really thin, hope it works.

I believe I'd go with liquid Nails. I ended up using a whole tube of LN but I liked the way it worked. I took the cap off and used it right out of tube. No waste, like that. When I use those little plastic tubes they want you to use I waste too much...
I bet it will come out beautifully...

I may try liquid nails, but for now I'm sticking (no pun intended) with E-6000. We all know there are a few good glues to use for our projects. I do think I will have an easier time on a flat surface. Hilarious!

When I made my BB last year, I used the clear silicone used for sealing windows. It was like $3.00 a tube at wal mart, in the section where they sell the caulking tubes. I'll get a picture soon and pot it.
