These are gift cuttings and the pictures show the plant(s) they were taken from. There are little white "pearls" along the hanging stems and small yellow flowers. The pictures of the flowers show them not quite open. What do I have?

I know this plant. My sister had it and I cannot pull the name from my brain. I will keep thinking.

It looks like a Rhipsalis. Maybe salicornioides?

That is pretty! Looks like a Rhipsalis. I have a Rhipsalis salicornoides but the branches are shorter, and so far have not seen it bloom to compare..looking at the name Rhipsales capilliformis, it looks more like it.

The capillifomis has white flowers. In fact, of the 36 varieties I have researched, I see that every one has white flowers (one can have pink) except for the Rhipsalis dissimilis, which has yellow. So far it looks like the dissimilis is the one I have. What think you?

Looks like a beautiful specimen of Dancing Bones Cactus (Hatiora salicornioides) to me. http://rhipsalis.com/species/s...

edited to add: It used to be in the Genus Rhipsalis but is now considered Hatiora ... the white "berries" are the fruit. I've seen birds eating the berries on a couple of my Rhipsalis.

I guess I would have to see the two plants side-by-side. They sure look very similar in growth, in those small, white "pearls", and in their flowers. The link below is where I found my original information.

I've heard that Rhipsalis are very difficult plants to identify sometimes.

If I have ever grown one of these, it was more than 3 decades ago. Now we are dealing with two families of plants, Hatiora and Rhipsalis. Talk about confusing. Sighing!

I've grown a few Rhipsalis over the years and still have three or four large plants but don't remember which ones they are. Some young plants look a lot different when they reach maturity than they do when they are young. I think two of mine are identical now that they've grown up. I used to have a small "Dancing Bones" but it never did much, did not seem to grow at all and I think it finally succumbed due to lack of care.

Give this link a look. Your plant looks a lot like the "Drunkard's Dream" Hatiora salicorniodes I lost in a freeze a few years ago.

Yep, that's what I saw too. It is probably either the salicorniordes or the dissimilis.

Just knowing the genus helps a lot when it comes to care and being able to access info from Hatiora and Rhipsalis should enable you to supply what it needs.

I'm good with the growing part. That shouldn't be a problem at all. I simply like to have my plants properly labeled. Just one of my quirks. Whistling
