Ok, now (hands on my hips here) I post photos of my big NOID catt at least 5 times per year. Does that make me a "photo hog"?

The title of these threads is "Our Orchid blooms . ." not "orchid chit-chat".

I think you're a photo hog if you DON'T share photos of every flower, as often as possible. nodding

I will try to do better. *Blush* No, you are not a photo-hog, Elaine. You have lots of flowering orchids. Hurray! Since I never seem to have the varieties that y'all have, all your photos are eye-candy to me.

And yours are eye candy for the rest of us, too. It's more fun to see different varieties than what we have ourselves.

Much as I enjoy the chat, pictures really keep these threads alive, just my opinion.

With the exception of a small grower about 1 1/2 hours away I have no place to see orchids. I love seeing all the photos.

Tara, I've always found it strange there isn't more moss in JAX.

I am smitten!!
I bought this Rlc/Blc Lady Wakasugi 'Ginza Beauty' SBM/JOGA in September at the Silva Orchid Fest. This one came from the Suwada table. I didn't realize then that it was close to blooming, so this was a nice surprise to see a big fat reddish bud emerging. I love it!!

Wow, so pretty with the rather conservative petals and that wonderful floofy lip.

I have it right now standing in the living room and the sun shines on it. This is one of those fluorescent shades with that touch of purple, it positively glows. Smiling

The blooms are tiny and generally not seen unless you get up close and personal. I wonder if Ken's flowers aren't more noticeable because the moss has been indirectly fertilized when his Vanda was fed? Perhaps his flowers are larger.

Ken, is you moss just hanging on the orchid or do you have the orchid growing in a moss nest?

Just trying to convince Ken about posting lots of pictures, Lindsey. I do love the chit-chat, too but this IS the thread where we post our blooms to share with all our orchid friends. We are flexible and the discussion is wide-ranging but pictures really keep it alive.

Bottom line, it's a thousand times more fun to bloom an orchid and have friends to show it to. Plus, I go out and see, smell, enjoy every flower every day so I don't get tired of seeing the same flower again. Although I might put on my sunglasses to visit Ursula's 'Ginza Beauty' with that blazing pink color in the sun!

Don't know if I've posted my NOid Den in bloom again with nice big flowers, and I shot a bunch more since I was out there . . . if you don't enjoy repeats, just skip forward!

The big sunset Catt has a broken pot and was trying to fall over on its face in the deluge of rain yesterday so I had to tie it up. I've been waiting at least 2 months for it to finish blooming so I can re-pot it:

Oh, oh, oh. I have a first-time bloomer! Hurray! The flowers are beautiful, at least to me. I just love to see my plants bloom the first time, some of which I have grown from seedlings and have had for 4-5 years. I feel like a child in a candy store. Whistling

I will go out and get some pictures of this beauty. I guess I better post those pictures on the database. Has anyone ever had this particular orchid? It is truly an antique plant variety, one of Fred Stewart's. I now can replace the "stock" picture I had of the flowers as well.

I am told that the flowers are pale when they open and then take on their "blue" color and fragrance over several days. We'll see. This flower sort of reminds of my C. Dinard 'Blue Heaven'.

The flowers of the Spanish moss are tiny. I do fertilize my moss along with everything else. The hose-end sprayer makes doing so easy. I am sure that's why my moss is so lush and grows so fast. I don't think it influences the flowers though, unless it makes the moss flower more abundantly.

It's beautiful, Ken. Much more floofy and delicate blue than the Dinard. Please, keep us posted - with more pictures! - as the flowers mature and change color.

Btw I don't mind repeats either. I bloom a lot of my Orchids year after year, which is a good thing since they are surviving! Smiling / Some oldies which I didn't manage to kill!
