None of the seeds planted on Feb. 2 have sprouted. The outer seed casings were removed, so I would expect something by now. Perhaps the pots will be a good place to start vegetable seeds just in case irises decide to emerge. So far, I have the one original JI seedling from the first set of Japanese seeds, who is doing well in a yoghurt cup.

Hurray! How exciting!

Now up to a total of 12 daylily seedlings (not counting the volunteers). Germination now ranging from 90% on one cross, to 0% on the cross I most wanted to see. Angry

My new seedling stand is still sitting here in boxes. If it really does rain off and on all day today (I suspect it won't), I should get it out and set it up. Then I can get my few daylily seedlings off the table, and bring in my volunteer seedlings from outside.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

It can take up to 3 years for some iris seeds to grow.

There are some JI seeds from Japan outside that did nothing last year. Maybe I will get a surprise sometime. The ones I start in the fridge need their outer husk removed. Those usually sprout.

Two more of my seedlings are coming up, now all but one cross is growing. The one that still isn't up has just one seed, so it may not make it.

two of my seedlings have opened. Both look like they may be MDB's but cant tell by the first years bloom. One little bud left to open for this year. A lot of the little fans coming up from seeds.

Don't give up yet! I just had seedlings come up from 2 years ago. I figured they were long gone! Something ate them or they didn't make it. They all just started sprouting this week. Now I have to figure out where the hell is going to put them. Lol
