I live in MT., and am fairly new to "what's what" with various plants. Should one prune clematis vines in the fall.

Hi jmc,

This article about pruning Clematis was written by a member here at All Things Plants and it talks about the three different groups of Clematis and the pruning for each group: http://garden.org/ideas/view/g...

Thanks so much for the info-- I, too, have a golden retriever, Spirit. She is actually my service dog-- aren't Goldes wonderful? I tip my hat to you. Hurray!

JMC, You are very welcome, I hope the tips in that article help with your clematis pruning!

Yes indeed, Golden's certainly are wonderful ... they make great service dogs, k-9 police dogs and family pets! Our Boeing (Bo for short) is 2 1/2 years old and the first canine that my husband and I have had in our family in 30+ years. AT one time we had three dogs, 2 cats and 2 birds and as years passed we seemed to just have a lot of felines as our family pets. When our last elderly cat passed a few years ago we decided to adopt another dog.

Lovey dubby Bo is the smartest, goofiest dog ever and I can't imagine a day without him.
