Not only is every region very different for gardening, they're each different from year to year.

Never a dull moment!

We had a sudden cool-down, too. The high today was probably in the low 80s, with a clear blue sky. No haze or ozone or pollution visible for a change. We never see weather like this in August. This is a treat!

Just back from the State Fair and the weather is cool 62 degrees and suppose to hit 58 before morning. It is so refreshing after this heat wave to step out into cool in the morning .

I really do believe that cats can hypnotize people...our Missy is a people cat and seems to be an expert! And try and stop her if she wants up on my shoulder! I indulge her for a little while, then my shoulder needs a rest! I've gathered some seeds from habit, but I'm not planning to plant any seeds until the drought ends. Except the white Amsonias...I really, really want them! Evidently, they can survive the drought...saw the plants along the road in about the same soil (or lack of soil) that we have.

I have collected seed several times but no success at germination yet. I have only tried the winter sowing method and it may take another way or longer than I am patient for Sticking tongue out

As for making the plant week I can not say,I use them as annuals and toss at the end of the season. I do know I get more blooms if I remove spent blooms and do not let go to seed.

Cats obviously all go to night school, studying how to be extra-cute and hypnotize their "owners".

We've got one cat that intensely stares and us and I swear...everytime (well no, not everytime...sometimes I try to ignore her) she stares at me, I start thinking...she wants something, so I start trying to do what she wants me to!
