Our store is closing down and they are throwing stuff in the trash like crazy, what a shame. I saw this and thought it would
be perfect as a plant stand so I asked our boss if I could have it or buy it, he said no, sorry but that is not allowed however
he said it will go into a dumpster outside and later at night I could come get it out and that is how I can get it. So the
guy in charge of ptting it in the dumpster told me he was throwing it away in 5 minutes and that if I got my car and
drive around back he would put it in my car, so that is what we did. Once painted, or even now, it will look great!

That looks like a well-built stand, Linda. You made a great move getting it like you did.

Yes, once I "stold" it I parked my car in our lot far away since it would only fit in my back seat and was visible. Sneaky!,
but better than coming back and trying to dig through a dumpster. I had offered to pay $20 for it but they would
rather toss it in the trash.

I put a few plants on it, a grow light shines on them, the ugly pot the Asparagus Fern is in on top will be re-potted, like the free
stand but I will have to stick to plants without much height. Actually the top of the shelf will be my Mandiville`s home when it comes
inside for winter, right now it comes in at night if 50 degrees or less and goes out to get sun on nice days.

Linda, what a nice little stand !! (I was happy to hear that you were able to retrieve it without having to actually "dumpster dive" Blinking ) It looks like there is a little drop-leaf shelf, even... What was its original use?

Score!
Although in my case I'm going through my stuff and getting rid of items, crazy how much stuff I have especially since kids moved out and mother moved onto nursing home. Having a big neighborhood yard sale Saturday to thin out belongings. Knowing me I'll probably buy some stuff from my neighbors and end up, with more stuff...

It's amazing what companies throw out. A company my son used to work for threw really good office desks, bookshelves and chairs out and no-one was allowed to take it from the dumpsters. What a waste. Glad you got it though perfect plant stand.

I bring my Mandevilla in every night (was 37 last night!) and it goes out during the sunny days. Also we took a big sheet of plastic and covered
the cactus.....all in containers and those come in every winter and go back out. I was surprised yesterday when my mom told me last year
she brought in a big pot of Moss Roses and put in the garage and never did another thing with them all winter, put the pot back out in the
spring and they bloomed again, but she said it took a long time and you are better off to just buy bloomed ones every season.
