My husband would say that "I'm not buying as much as James" is also Female Math (like coming home loaded with bags and telling him how much I saved).

Thankfully I only have to justify it to 2 dogs and so long as the treats keep coming they're fine with whatever else I do!

My good friend Robin Nichols, may she rest in peace, had the best explanation for her hubby. She kept telling him that she had a bunch of good friends (which she did), and that all the boxes that kept showing up with gift plants.....lol.

My dear wife has just given up. Forty four years of marriage will do that to a person...lol. She appreciates that this hobby keeps me home, and that the grandkids benefit, and that the yard looks grand (except for now). She does miss her vegetable garden, though.

James has a much more simple plan. Mention gift boxes to the pups and see if they pick up their ears.

My husband is a fly fisherman, so his hobby is more expensive than mine is, since I don't buy new intro's. I always remind him of that. Works out well for me.

I'm sitting here laughing, and also regretful that I took my wife to lilyhemmer... no excuses about gift plants here... and 170 plants on the auction list. In addition to the slilent auction, and Amish raffle, and give away.

And the fact that I had to buy split review after looking at it twice and being sour over good luck. So Steve and James... I think I might be that "crazy" person... but lucky for James all he has to do is keep the Bacon treat train going.

Not to worry, I used to have all my plants sent to John Rice during the winter. He had a greenhouse then, and would pot up 100s of plants for me, divide some as compensation, and then I would rent a cargo van in late April and drive down to pick up my treasure. John and Annette are simply the best.

The van renting days are still discussed as the pinnacle of complete daylily craziness. Turns out, I use my old self in any comparisons around here concerning daylily normalcy. You and James are safe....lol.

I used to tell my husband it was cheaper than therapy, tho sometimes that was stretching it. Gardening DOES keep me sane though.
