Yes, I know the genus name changed but can't remember it at the moment.
Grown from seed several years ago but no blooms yet. It should be close to being pot-bound since I've read that it prefers that condition. Can anyone recommend a fertilizer for this? Have been using an organic rose fertilizer but maybe that's incorrect. I've also read that it prefers a slightly acidic soil? How best to accomplish that in a pot? This is the final year for this poor thing if I can't get it to bloom. It does come indoors in the winter here.

If it prefers acid soil, then a fertilizer for acid-loving plants should be good. Look for something that says "Azalea, Camellia and Rhododendron" or something like that.

Perhaps next spring put it out where it will get more sun than it has had before. Now that it is well established in its pot, it should be able to take more sun and that should help it bloom. Morning sun is always preferable for these type of plants.

No morning sun here - native oaks to the east. When I did try it in more sun, the leaves tended to bleach out. Maybe not enough water? I'm going to add some Happy Frog potting soil to the pot as the current soil is very hard to wet.
