Sadly I only have a small apartment garden and no place for the plants in winter. I chose daylilies because they survive during the winter (then I fell in love with them), I just bought a couple of potentilla pots because I read they can stand heavy cold too. Four o' clocks it's a try, I wanted some nocturnal plants and I thought that even if they die during the winter I can always plant from seeds again. But maybe I will check to see if I find tubers in pot and put them apart.

Sabrina You can store the tubers to try a few in a shoebox under yer bed or in a closet Smiling over winter. Dry (to prevent rot) is most important followed by keeping cool. Here, people store the tubers all kinds of ways. In the basement, in the garage. Leave em in a pot and bring them in and let them go dormant. The key thing is, they cannot be allowed to freeze.

But as you said, they are easy to grow from seed. One of the easiest things I have ever grown from seed.

Speaking of rot... I used a bagged potting mix.. it had damping off. All the little plants were almost dead, today I changed everything, cleaned the roots gently but they were not looking good. Angry

With the new potting mix they seem recovering. I am not able to coope with potting mix with peat in it, so I chose a peat-free pot mix and used it. Maybe they will survive!
