Oo, great idea! I'll take some more pictures once I get it potted up in its own pot (which won't be until this weekend, unfortunately, I don't have any plastic pots on hand) and post it over there. Thank you!

Good luck! I wish I could help, too, but I don't know anything about those plants. Rolling my eyes.

And I forgot I had a bag of potting mix out on our patio (I don't really go out there much these days, my 'Foxtail Fern' and miniature rose are staying pretty moist).

Lucky me, I found three pots inside the bag. Hurray!

I had my first casualty from this bunch. Crying I was out of town for a week and when I came back and watered my plants, I forgot about this one, which sits tucked away in a cubby by my PC. Since I haven't been on my PC in weeks, really, I haven't noticed it and so I forgot about it. Poor thing. My nerve plant currently looks like this:

Thumb of 2015-12-29/DogsNDaylilies/6352b5

(For a picture of a healthy one, it's the pink-veined plant in the first picture on the first post on this thread.)

I'm going to try to work a miracle on that thing because it has flopped on me multiple times and popped right back up with a little water. It is probably too far gone for that this time, but as long as I see a hint of green, I'm going to try!

Here's a plant that has definitely improved in my care though:

Thumb of 2015-12-29/DogsNDaylilies/ab081a

It has been getting some good lighting and moderate watering and I'm pretty sure the top leaves, which you see in the picture, are true to the cultivar and are not etoliated, like the bottom leaves are. I tried to get an ID on this one previously and the consensus at that time was that it is an echeveria of some sort. If anyone wants to take another stab at it now and guess as to which type, please be my guest! I'd love to hear what you think and get this thing ID'ed! Thumbs up

I too would give that Nerve Plant a chance ... Nerve Plant (Fittonia albivenis) are pretty tough. Snip off the dead leaves and give it a drink and it may just surprise you and perk back up. Green Grin!

Pretty Echeveria ... it looks like one I have that was identified by an ATP member as Conchita Escarlata (Echeveria coccinea) My plant is pretty sickly looking ... it's been hanging in a backyard tree for many months and has not received any attention or care. It currently has a few buds and blooms:
First photo shows how nice it looked a few months ago and the second two pic's are today *Blush*

Lin, I love your echeveria! It's beautiful. It looks super velvety, too. Is it?

Mine isn't as velvety...despite what you see in the picture, there is so little fuzz on mine that it almost feels slightly sticky or rubbery. Maybethat, too, will change in time? It [/i]is [/i] fuzzed now than it was. Mine seems to have more narrow leaves, though, whereas yours has thicker, more diamond-shaped leaves, I think. Yours really is a beautiful plant. I wonder how old most echeveria have to be before they bloom because I'll bet a bloom would help classify mine and see if it's the same as yours or some other variety.

It is velvety but the lighting/camera may make it appear even more soft/velvety than it actually is. I wish I was a better plant caretaker to be able to keep them alive because I'd love to grow more of them

A lot of Echeveria flowers look alike.

This is the basket that Echeveria is planted in ... I got it for $2.00 on the clearance rack at a local Lowes, summer 2014. Some of the plants that were in there have died but at least one Echeveria is still hanging on for dear life and the sedum is doing okay.

Lin, thank you for posting the pictures! Those really ate some great photos. It's hard to tell from bloom shots, but the leaves of the 'brown sugar' one almost look like they could be my plant some leaves sometimes get more spread out when the plant creates a blooming stalk.

Nice catch on that basket, what a great price! Is that 'donkey tail' (or 'burro'?) that I see in there?

DND, you are very welcome. Your Echeveria does look a lot like 'Brown Sugar' but if you aren't certain you should upload a few photos to the general database entry for Echeveria: Echeverias (Echeveria) Someone may see your photos and recognize the cultivar and then they could be moved over to the correct entry!

Yes, someone identified that sedum plant in the basket as Burrow's Tail/Donkey's Tail Burro's Tail (Sedum morganianum)

I wonder if anyone over on the Cactus & Succulent Forum: http://garden.org/forums/view/... is familiar with Echeveria and could possibly give a more exact ID?

@purpleinopp Tiffany, it really does look more like S. burrito than S. morganianum. I forgot who on here identified it for me but since I can't be sure which one it is, I will submit proposals to move my photos over to the General database entry for Sedums! Thanks!

The way the entry for S. burrito is written in the DB here, is as a species, which I didn't notice when I pasted it earlier. I was about to say it doesn't matter since burrito is a cultivar of S. morganianum but noticed the punctuation and did a little poking around. Some sources recognize burrito as a separate species, some don't. It's possible the person who ID'd it just didn't include the 'Burrito' part if they learned that plant as a cultivar of S. morganianum, and wanting to avoid being so specific as to possibly be wrong.

If you're as bored as I am with winter already, maybe you could start a new ID discussion for it to solicit all possible opinions, and include any newer pics if you still have it. My opinion was on the pic shown here, of a cute multi-plant hanging thing. If you had other pics that you moved after your last post here, I didn't see them (as part of this discussion anyway, I may have in the past.)

Tiffany, The only one I have is in the mixed planting basket that I got at Lowes a year ago and I only had the one photo in the database but I proposed to move it to the general entry for Sedum since I have no clue which one it actually is. At first I thought that Burrito might be a cultivar name but the Catalogue of life, which is updated regularly (last update Dec. 23, 2015) shows both as species names.

~ Sedum burrito - R. Moran - Species - accepted name - Plantae

~ Sedum morganianum - Walther - Species - accepted name - Plantae
