My Amur maples are a bright spot, like your trees Arlene. The crabapple tree is leafless but is covered with bright large red berries. Almost like it has leaves. Wish they just didn't all into my garden bed. Wonder if I could cover it with plastic to catch them. Or at least most of them. New peonies and lilies are in the ground, the soggy wet ground.
Just have to hope they don't rot before freeze up. We are running in the mid to low 30's at night and in the 50's during the day. We have had a day or so of hard frost but that was over two weeks ago. Keep expecting to wake up to a frosty morning one of these days. Time to shut down the pond. What a miserable task. But I do love the crisp autumn when the rain stops.
