Dear Zuzu,

I tried to add 'Ercilia spicata' as a synonim, but it happened otherwise. So sorry!

Ercilla spicata is not a synonym. It's the accepted name. We had an entry for Ercilla volubilis, which is a synonym of E. spicata, so I added that name to the spicata entry as a synonym and deleted the E. volubilis entry.

Zuzu, please read carefully: I tried to add 'Ercilia' as a synonim of Ercilla. Here it is known with both names:

- Ercilla spicata and
- Ercilia spicata

Since the system did not accept it (or that's what I tought), I simply deleted my entry 'Ercilia spicata' as a synonim and left (or thought so) Ercilla spicata as the name. That's when the problem occurrred.

If the powers of vegetable denominations do not accept it .... I can live with that Sticking tongue out

I thought you were just misspelling it in your post, Smiling especially since your proposal didn't say anything about Ercilia. Your proposal was a name edit of Ercilla spicata to say that the name was a synonym instead of the accepted name. This was your proposal:

Pid: 395414
Latin:

Ercilla spicata

Latin_status:

synonym

I declined your proposal because E. spicata is not a synonym. As for Ercilia, that genus does not exist, so it can't be listed as a botanical synonym. It's simply a misspelling.

It's OK, no problem.

Just made a Google/picture search for Ercilla spicata and guess what: there are the pictures I posted last night!
