Some Thoughts on Garden Planning

By TBGDN

When it comes to garden planning (and planting), I can only speak for myself. I try to use self-discipline when it comes to managing the yards and gardens; and what is to be grown there, planted there, and removed from there. Also I think about what will save time, money, and work. With each passing year I give careful consideration to each of these, especially the "work" part!

Arlene, your gardens are so beautiful!
I so agree about solving a problem and thinking it's the last one. There was the alley border to block the view of trash cans, then the corner rock garden to not have to mow steep hills, then the east garden so I could have a small private area (on a very exposed corner lot), then the second rock garden to keep traffic out of the alley garden, and I'm sure there will be something else next year. And all serve to reduce the amount of lawn to be mowed! Hurray!

Old gardeners never die. They are just pruned and repotted.

How very true!
