If you are planning on keeping your bulbs for more than a season, I suggest that, after they bloom, you plant them in good potting soil in a standard 6 inch pot, to allow for good root development. Plant with the neck visible. I recommend clay or another heavy pot, since plastic pots can tip over, once the leaves become very top-heavy. With regular water and fertilizer, the bulb will put up new leaves, begin the process of rebuilding itself, and produce the flower buds that will appear the next season.
