Wow that is interesting. I tried to force them into Dormancy for to long of a period. I noticed a lot of you are from Fl. So your growing conditions are great for there. Except some of you got snow and cold this last year.
Do the bulbs need a lot of soil? What type? When I start them in Nov. I mostly put them in small gravel and a small amount coir in a shallow christmas pot that holds 3 soft ball size. It sounds like I need them in a bigger pot after they bloom. Do they need width and depth for the pot? Thanks for posting

If you are planning on keeping your bulbs for more than a season, I suggest that, after they bloom, you plant them in good potting soil in a standard 6 inch pot, to allow for good root development. Plant with the neck visible. I recommend clay or another heavy pot, since plastic pots can tip over, once the leaves become very top-heavy. With regular water and fertilizer, the bulb will put up new leaves, begin the process of rebuilding itself, and produce the flower buds that will appear the next season.

I love the beautiful coral color on this amaryllis. It's been in bloom for the last two days or so. (I seem to always get one that is out of season, probably because of when I bring them in versus when I put them outside in the spring.) The picture makes it look red, but it's not, it's definitely more coral:

Out of season blooms are always a nice surprise. I just had a scape with 2 blooms , "Gervase" from an offset which is still attached to the mother bulb. The flowers were tucked down deep into foliage in one of my outside pots.

This was my second season for "Gervase," what a great plant, all of them had 2 stalks, out of all of my amaryllis...this variety seems to be the most vigorous.

Beautiful, @cwhitt !

If everyone else has blooms right now, maybe mine aren't as out of season as I thought.

This one is blooming out of season. They usually bloom here in March. This is 'Belinda' x 'Carnival'. It looks all 'Belinda' and no 'Carnival'.

Last year I had practically every one bloom out of season. It sort of felt like my dad, who had died last year, sent them.
