Purple Rain, the only new bulb this fall, very pretty, so far only one bloom stalk.

Beautiful, Margaret! I think I like the no flash better.

Thanks for the tip, Margaret--I like the idea of putting something between them to help with the cutting!

margaret: a photo of the back of the bloom is an excellent idea for the database to help someone looking to ID a bloom.

Santa Rosa from Royal Colors. Santa Rosa is another cross of Fred Meyer, who bred the cybister hybids. The coloration reminds me of one of the cybisters, but it doesn't open up as far as you would expect. It has more of a trumpet form. This will not be a favorite of mine. Perhaps it is just a little too unusual for me.

Made me think peppermint when I first gazed upon your pic. Probably the color triggered the thought.

This is Fiesta from Royal Colors. This is a repeat bulb for me. Last year's fiesta bulb was very sick, and I only had one decent bloom on it. I reordered it this season to see if a healthy bulb produced nicer flowers. Its a smaller bloom , a rich dark raspberry pink with speckling on the lower 3 petals. The petals are very thin and delicate.
Thumb of 2016-01-26/bsharf/86cbb7I posted this photo of Fiesta from today. The petals get "rounder" and flatter as the bloom ages.

I'm behind on posting, I've had more blooms the last couple of weeks but I have to get the pictures off of my phone. My blooms aren't as exotic and uniquely beautiful as yours, Barbara, but I do love them and I am really beginning to think that one of the three types I have in bloom is a hybrid of the other two types and I really like it! I hybridized away this month in the hopes to create some 'sister seeds' to that hybrid in the hopes that the same characteristics might get passed along. Pictures will follow soon...

This was sold by White Flower Farms as Pistachio. This morning I checked Emaryllis.com to see if he had grown this one. He had grown this but questioned the ID. Check out Emaryllis.com/ Photo Library/Lobby. According to him, Pistachio is a registered cultivar which is not solid green. Pistache is a pale green cultivar. You can see the confusion since the names are so similar. He thinks this is probably Pistache but until there is more information from the grower, he is not IDing it. What a shame, but its still lovely: I'm partial to pale green cultivars.

Barbara, it can be difficult when the names are similar and both are green to get an id, regardless it is a beauty.

That's great Kelli!

Big Amadeus from White Flower Farms. This a showy huge pink and white double. There is some variation in coloration and shape of the blooms. That seems to be common in many doubles.

Candy Amadeus from White Flower Farms. Another showy huge double. White with some pink on the tips. Its quite dramatic when all four blooms are open.

Okay, I don't think I've posted pictures of my two most recent blooming types,
so here are some pictures of my NOID, first....

a little late posting, but here goes:
Thumb of 2016-02-01/DogsNDaylilies/e92775 Thumb of 2016-02-01/DogsNDaylilies/d865f7
I took a picture with something red next to it to try and show how pink, not red, these are. Here's another picture or two to show it's shape, color, and height (it's right between the striatum and red NOID in both height and bloom time, although I'm not sure bloom time counts for much in determining parentage)...

Thumb of 2016-02-01/DogsNDaylilies/798a79 Thumb of 2016-02-01/DogsNDaylilies/76aae3

I have dubbed it 'pink star' so that I can keep track of the crosses I'm making. I really think it's a hybrid of the other two. Here they are with their pictures in a row:

Thumb of 2016-02-01/DogsNDaylilies/a313a8 Thumb of 2016-02-01/DogsNDaylilies/74e2bc

Really, the biggest thing that makes me think the red one and presumed-'striatum' variety are the parents, aside from the looks, is that they were all in a pot together. Also, 'pink star' has white stripes and that might have been a lucky toys of the genetic dice because striatum has more yellow-green stripes but the red has a hint of white stripes as you can see better in these pictures:

And second....

My Papillio bloom!!!:

I got it for Christmas, so it bloomed FAST! It wasn't in soil when I got it, but I planted it right after I got it, watered lightly, and within two days there was noticable green growth. I was/am so excited to have this amaryllis, it was pretty high on my wish list for gifts (and was the amaryllis I wanted most).

Even the buds were pretty!:

By the way, if any of you recognize my pink, frilly NOID to be a named cultivar, please let me know! Just because I think it is a hybrid of my other two doesn't make it certain. Smiling
