DBG offers many classes and I took one in the spring on Photography. Believe it or not it was actually a rainy day and so picture taking was fairly easy. Here are some photos of the beautiful desert there.

The Garden also presents art work that complements the Garden. Here are some of Chihuly glass art from his first display. I believe he will be doing another display in 2012.

There was also a display of sculpture by Allan Houser.

wow!!! As if the plants alone weren't worth the trip. Those are drop-dead gorgeous. I like them all but the first two are awesome.

How beautiful, Nancy. I love Chihuly's work. It's always displayed to look as if it grows right where it stands.
I don't think I've ever seen it in a desert till now.

Houser's sculptures usually blend into the surroundings, but Chihuly's has the 'wow' color and shape factor.

I just returned from SC where I visited Brookgreen Sculpture Gardens about 3 miles south of Pawley's Island along the coast. I need to prepare a show on this place. It was a visit I will never forget. I'm still tired from the return trip and will do this tomorrow.
