Joe, they usually don't survive unless you have one good leaf at least 30 days old. What you can do is gently transplant the hairpins at this point and continue to grow them under lights on up until January. The hairpin stage survives transplanting surprisingly well.
Late germination happens here a couple batches every year. Most times I rule in favor of the majority and forget about the rest, but I have separated them on many occasions with success. It's just a little extra work involved with a separate chilling cycle down the road along the way.
