Last Saturday (August 6) the Lily Study Group of the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon (HPSO) paid a visit to Mak-Leek breeding. I was surprised to see so many Asiatic seedlings blooming. The day was quite pleasant with temperature around a cool 75. I took around 150 photos but have deleted a few after review. It is hard to describe what acres of blooming lilies look like let alone smell like as most were orientals. Enjoy!

Oh very nice. Looks like 'Sun Valley' in your third photo on the left. I can only imagine the fields of bloom. Until then...I wait for your next photos. Thanks for sharing.

I can't wait to see the rest of the photos too. I purchased from MAK last year for the first time, and now that we finally got it right, that I don't want lilies in March, they are a great company to work with.

Who did you meet there?

As far as I know it was a pretty small turnout. I recognized everyone there from the PNWLS and there was one couple that I didn't recognize who are members of the HPSO but not Lily Group. So I made a point to talk with them a bit to help drum up lily interest. I left around 1:00 and the open house lasted until 4:00. So there may have been others who came.

For a change it was a long drive for everyone but me Big Grin as it is only 20 miles from my place Thumbs up .

All of these seedling lilies except the rare selected ones (marked with color coded ribbons) will be composted. Just like Dee's iris seedlings lol!

That is all for the Asiatic lilies. I came upon this one mixed in with the Asiatics:

I plan to start a new thread for the orientals. I have enough photos to spread them out over a period of time Big Grin . I still need to edit them and that takes time and lately my wrist has been in pain from so much time on the computer!

I got a little surprise when I downloaded all of my photos to my computer. A little message saying I didn't have squat space left on my hard drive. Confused Angry ! So I have been spending some time going through a lot of old stuff and deleting. I think with Dave at the helm it is reasonably safe to consider the photos I post as my archive. That works for me!

I agree 100%. When they were talking last year about Cubits going down, Dave offered to send any files we had on it to us in a zip file. Ever since then I've felt very safe with what I have on here.

Lilies everywhere you look is my idea of a good time. And spending time getting other people addicted to them comes up darn close as a second. Glad you got to go Connie. What a treat.
