I'd like to find this in the db but I don't know its 'real' name. I ran across a dl that the lady said smelled like lemon when it blooms. I assume it is one of the really older ones. She said it is yellow.

The "lemon lily" is Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus. I thought it was called lemon for the colour although it is fragrant.

That is probably true Sue but I recall friends that I have saying it smelled like lemons. Mine didn't bloom this year so I can't say for sure.

I wouldn't have said it smelled like lemons, but my first thought was that meant a cut lemon fruit. Then I started to wonder, maybe they mean the flowers of a lemon tree, not the fruit - Googled for that and found a blog that says "Finally, a real spring charmer, earlier than the regular daylilies, Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus, the lemon lily. Rather than smelling like lemons it smells like orange or lemon flowers, and has a nice strong scent unlike regular daylilies."

Mine just finished its first blooms for the season. It reblooms well. I will smell them.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
