Using an aquarium air bubbler is a fairly inexpensive way to speed up the rooting of larger cuttings.

David...air stone is a piece of porous material that the air line is fed into... it is an open cell item... so the big bubbles that you'd get with just an air line .. are broken up into thousands of little bubbles... the mass of little bubbles go into suspension in the water easier.. providing an oxygen rich water.. or healthy fish...and brush along the stem you are rooting.. stiring the cutting to reach out and start making roots faster..http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=air+stone&tag=mh0b-20&index=aps&hvadid=3527181225&hvqmt=p&hvbmt=bp&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_6bec94asxd_p

Thank You! Very much. Since I do not raise fish nor have an aquarium, I had no cluse. That makes sense and I will keep this in mind. Don't necessarily want to go our and buy all these supplies for the few cuttings that I do in water. cheers

Wonder if lava rock would work Gordon??? It's full of air holes where air bubbles could pass through?? They sell this in big bags too fairly cheap to landscape beds with.

I would think that would be fairly easy to drill a whole. But the sizes are fairly small.

What is the typical size on an air stone Gordon?
