"I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know I want ....

TO GROW DAYLILIES FROM SEEDS!

That's about describing my current condition right now! Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Can't wait to start my daylily seeds that I got on the LA this past month. I am going crazy with excitement and joy eventhough I don't have anything yet. What is wrong with me? Just thinking and dreaming of the possibilities make me Drooling and Lovey dubby . I can't stop thinking about it. Just wondering if anyone out there is in the same excited state?? Or has anyone ever had this experience before? Or am I just nuts??

Lol Karen,

You can't be nuts because I am and you are never at the meetings. I get to use that line a lot...lol. Life is all about being excited about what's to come. Daylily seeds fit into that picture perfectly. Joyfully looking forward!

I got some really exciting crosses from the purchases, I think. Even if I don't get nice flowers from them, they may make very good parents. I just love the daylilies that were used as parents for these seeds so I am very hopeful. Smiling

These are the crosses I got:

MEMORIES OF OZ X LILLIAN'S VAPOR TRAIL from Lighthousegal
STARMAN'S QUEST X LILLIAN'S VAPOR TRAIL from Lighthousegal
Ruckus X Vampire Academy from Ruby
Buffalo Thunder X Black to the Future from Daylilyparadise
Fangs to You X Dr. Celia Stump from Jet
Mystery Bag from Ahead

I am very excited of all the crosses but the one that I look most forward to is the seeds I got from Steve Todd (Ahead). At the time, I was seeking seeds with tet RFK as a parent or grandparent. It was so happened that he offered 5 seeds from his "keeper" mystery bag that have tet RFK in its background. I jumped on it and luckily I won. Sooo happy at my second win. But the good news didn't end there. Well, the offer was for 5 seeds but instead I got 5 crosses, each with 4-5 seeds. Hurray! Hurray! I was jumping for joy. Thank You! Thank You! Steve. Here are the crosses I got:

Tet RFK x Vicki Josephine1 X Curt's Gift
Tet RFK x Vicki Josephine1 X Carolina Cool Down
Tet RFK x Vicki Josephine2 X Confessions of a Hemaholic
Tet RFK x Vicki Josephine2 X Mermaid's Spell
Tet RFK x Vicki Josephine2 X High Watermark

I know it will be at least 2-3 years before I see anything. I just hope that I can get them to germinate and grow as seedlings next year. It will be a fun and excitingn journey for sure.

That's a fine looking list of seeds to plant!

Karen,

They're all nice, but that batch from Steve contains some very advanced material, which will rival anything available.
Best of luck - you've got a great start. With decent care, and late-winter sowing under lights, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't see most of them bloom in the spring of '17.

Very nice! Those should give you some very pretty sdlgs. Picked up a few seeds from Steve's TRFK X Vickie 2 last year on the LA, they grew well this year and should bloom next July.

Finally finished sorting the seed list for planting later this winter .....yes, I'm getting excited too! Smiling

Mystery bag??

Who comes up with this stuff...lol. I like all your wins, Karen...looks like you are on your way! I may have gone a little overboard, with over 100 pods each of both TETRFK x Vicki seedlings. Crossing with Davi's stunning cultivars has long been a goal of mine.

May you get beautiful seedlings!

Steve
