At an unplanned stop at a yard sale - I happened to just be driving by - I spotted this piece and immediately knew I wanted it, even though in our climate there is not much need for a Wardian Case.

It's so pretty, Hetty. What a great find. Looks to me like a nice place to start seedlings, or maybe some of your plumie cuttings could use the extra humidity through the winter?

Thank you for the suggestions, Elaine. For now it is on my porch (out of the sun) with a budding orchid and some Tillandsias, but I know it will be something I will keep looking at. The top part tilts up to open it to the air and that is how I have it currently but for seedlings it might be good to have it closed.
Oooh, how nice! I love Wardian Cases and would love to find something like that at a yard sale! It would be so pretty with African Violets sitting in it or miniature Orchids or dwarf Bromeliads or Florist Cyclamens or ...
What a great find!!
