A Wardian Case for Gardeners

At an unplanned stop at a yard sale - I happened to just be driving by - I spotted this piece and immediately knew I wanted it, even though in our climate there is not much need for a Wardian Case.

I've looked at many of these online over the years. I would love to find one as nice as yours.
I did buy a "new" version of one at IKEA. I find it works great for a small orchid, the one I have in there bloomed for me! Or how about some little carnivorous plants, I grew those in a taller aquarium once. Some of them are quite charming, sundews, bladderworts, even some smaller pitcher plants. If need be you can find an aquarium heater that would stick to the bottom of the case to bring the temperature up. Of course these are suggestions for inside the house in a sunny window. Outside, you could put just about anything in small pots in there. How about a black-eyed susan vine escaping out the top?

I've had many great suggestions, including yours, Dee. It's getting used to its new spot for now, and I'm sure in time I will fill it just right Smiling
