The Reblooming Iris Society (RIS) needs your help with their "2015 Re-Blooming" report. Here is a note that was sent out to the Region 3 iris folks of the American Iris society. The note is from Mike Lockatell, the Eastern Director for the RIS. Mike sent the note to Ron Thoman, the DVIS (Delaware Valley Iris Society) Secretary ahead of Mike's visit/speaking engagement at the Region 3 Fall meeting. Here is the note:

"Good Evening Ron,

As Eastern Director for the Reblooming Iris Society (RIS), I am required to file a report on rebloom for the Reblooming Iris Recorder each fall.

I would to mention more reporting from DVIS and Region 3. Please help me.

Could you ask members currently growing rebloomers to bring a report to the Fall Meeting on Sunday or send one to me at [email protected] ASAP.

The report should include Name and Address, Variety plus Period of Rebloom. If plants did not flower due to frost or currently have developing bloomstalks, this information should be mentioned too!!

I look forward to meeting members on Sunday.

Best regards,
Mike Lockatell

I cut out Mike's address and phone number from the email. It would be really great if we sent in our re-blooming reports. Since Mike is the "Eastern" director; only folks east of the Mississippi River should send him a bloom report. I will ask him who the Western director is so I could post that so the rest of the country can join in! Please help out as more information will enhance the scope of re-blooming irises in general and specific cultivars especially.

I have just sent my report in. How about helping the cause? THANKS!!

I did send a note about the only rebloomer this year after moving and transplanting all irises. It was late rebloomer Bountiful Harvest which usually gets frozen out just as a couple blooms appear, but the extended warm stretch have limited the freeze damage so might have 6 blooms on 2 stems in the next day or two.

I am not a member either. They are hoping to get a better picture of the r-bloom and wanted help from Region 3. I just decided to ask all of you to contribute and to possibly get more folks looking at our forum.

You don't 'have to be' a member to contribute a report.....but, a 'membership" is money, well spent.....and the 'Recorder' (their magazine) is very interesting reading Rolling my eyes. Sticking tongue out !

Greg,
What rebloomers do the best in your area? [those that are early enough to not get frozen!]
