Their biggest draw for me has been low prices for small but healthy plants. I was just looking to order a few things in fall, and their prices seem A LOT higher. Is it my imagination?

I have not looked , but sometimes in the fall it is the larger pots? I only order in the spring and almost always the 3 packs of starters.

I bought small ones last fall. I know I got liatris in a 3 cell pack then, and they were cheap. Geranium Rozanne was a little bigger, but not much, and cheap. Now, Rozanne is $12.95 !

Bluestone no longer offers the small three cell packs. So the Fall catalog is all the larger, single items.

We grow in one size: a biodegradable Coir Pot 3.5" x 3.5" x 4" deep (36.5 cubic inches)
We usually grow all our own plants, but occasionally we have to buy plants from other nurseries. Their sizes may not exactly match ours.

I still think $12.95 for Rozanne is high for a 3.5" x 3.5" x 4" deep pot. Locally, I saw a gallon pot for $15.

Thanks Karen. Seeing the biodegradable pots on their home page reminded me to ask about these. I've received a few plants in these things and have always removed it before planting. Is this the general rule of thumb

I checked the local nursery that I was hinking of. It's a very reputable place, probably the most expensive place in the area, but they have good quality stock. Their normal price for perennial geraniums, gallon size, is $12.95. Unfortunately, they are out of Rozanne. But Now, during their fall sale, their entire stock is 25% off. So a gallon size perennial is now $9. Bluestone's price is $12.95 for a 3 inch pot!

I'm going to order a few things, including Rozanne for $8.79 from Santa Rosa Gardens instead of Bluestone. I have a 25% discount pending from a previous order. I've ordered from Santa Rosa in the past and gotten nice healthy plants.

Like Santa Rosa. Had half a dozen orders from them this year, all great shape and very well packed. AND they have those lovely coupons, too.

I just received my fall catalog in the mail. Ouch. I've bought over 70 perennials from them this year but I'd never be able to do that with their new prices. It's a shame.

Based on seeing this thread earlier this week, their fall catalog went straight into my recycle bin. I didn't even open it.

I ordered 4 plants- from Santa Rosa. With my discount it was $30, including shipping. Not bad at all.

They changed their packaging this fall. They used to use styrofoam peanuts, which I hate so much I swore I'd never buy from them again after receiving my first order this spring. Now it's all biodegradable, and only one size. I'm sure that's why the prices went up...but you're right, it's a lot more. What about Lazy S? I like them a lot, and this fall they changed their big box discount to 9 from 16-- much more affordable.
