Has anybody called dibs recently? Has anyone added a new plant? Perhaps someone retracted a dib? You can now view the recent history of the swap.

Go to the swap page and you'll see the link. "View recent events for this swap". You'll also notice it conveniently tells you when was the most recent event, so you know if there's anything new to see.

Ok, even better. Now you can add items to your wishlist or even call dibs on items you see in the events page.

It's an obvious need - you are watching the events and you see someone added or dibbed something, and you think "I want that, too!" Well, now you can wishlist or dib it directly from that screen. Smiling

I apologize but I had to temporarily remove the dibs and wishlist functionality from the events page due to a bug I discovered. I'll try to have it fixed and restored soon.

Wow, what a fun feature! Now I just wish there was the option to "audit" a swap so I could watch the fun even though I can't participate this time! Big Grin

I might make a spectator mode available in the future.

In other news, I fixed the bug that I had earlier, so you can now once again add items to your wishlist, or call dibs, from the recent events page.

I thought I broke it. After I spent the last of my tickets, I started watching what everyone else was doing, But there were no new dibs after mine. I keep watching and watching but nothing.

That's a really good idea, Danita! I think being able to "watch" a swap, even though a person isn't participating could give people who have never done a group swap before a better idea of how it works and the courage to join a future swap.

I hope some of the other beta swap members will offer their opinions on this!

COOL idea!

Maybe a "ticker tape" scroll along the bottom of the website.

Man, that would scroll fast at 12:00:01 ATP Seed Trading Time!

Hmmm, Rss feed ... cable TV franchise ... NASDAQ ...

My first impression was I did not like it, but read some of Dave's reasoning of catching what others dib and then maybe get it yourself. I guess it can be handy.

I am trying to find the easiest method of seeing when someone requests something of mine since there is no notification for this. I feel I am making too many clicks to get from the main site to the section of the swap letting me know when someone dibs something of mine. I guess I am really eager for people to get my seeds. Smiling

Jay - YOU BROKE IT!!! Whistling Whistling Rolling on the floor laughing

At the very instant the Great New England Blackout started, a young kid was walking along a picket fence with a stick, dragging the stick across the pickets to make an annoying noise.

He came to a telephone pole, wound up, and gave that pole a good whack with his stick.

EVERY light in sight went out!

He went home in panic to find out that he had just taken down the ENTIRE Northeast power grid: from space it looked like someone had spilled copious amounts of black paint over that part of the continent.

(It was actually caused by a software defect: one changed line in an assembler program that was such a "trivial" fix that they had not bothered to verify and test it as they do "real" changes. It caused one "burp" by one switching station take down the next station. That wouldn't have been so bad, but it was a consistent and reliable defect, so it brought down EVERY switching station connected to any other station. Not sure how they limited it to "just" the Northeast. )

and... that boy has been in therapy ever since? or has been trying to duplicate the results by hitting power poles with sticks ever since?

geez, Rick -- talk about leaving us hanging! Rolling on the floor laughing
