Gabe, maybe Lucy was referring to a drying agent for her dried flowers (?) Or not.
I wonder why you'd dry the pollen?

I would guess that, due to the moiture, it would mold , if not at least partially dried Shrug!

Just keeping in the frig during the season (not freezing) we use the drying agent & coin envelopes. Good for awhile.

For the drying agent do you use silica gel packs? ....like are found in new shoes?

I did this years ago but only hybridized that one year and gave up. So don't remember if I ever used the frozen pollen. I used capsules. Think I got them at the drug store.

@Cuzz4 short No, test tube vials would be much larger. These were probably an inch in length. Like I said got at drugstore. I used Google and found a lot on places selling empty gelatin capsules, but no picture of an individual capsule. While I was looking I found the following from last spring. Doesn't look like it made a good start, but info is interesting as to viability of pollen.
