I've got 14 beautiful, healthy, bell pepper plants but not one single pepper...any ideas why?

One of these may be the problem: temperature, poor pollination, fertilization and watering.

What are your temps like?
Do you see bees and butterflies in your garden?
What if anything have you fertilized with recently?
How often do you water?

Usually it is a temperature issue but it can be any of the other things mentioned.

Our temps are nice...high 80's to mid 90's during the day, 60's at night.

They get watered when it rains, which is once or twice a week.

They get compost a couple times during their main growth. When we plant and during the summer.

Lots of bees and butterflies.

Sandy soil.

I don't get it...I've a beautiful crop of tomatoes, best I've seen in years, yet no peppers...

I don't get it either, sounds like everything is good and your doing everything right. Here are a few sites that have good information;

Some pepper varieties are finicky. It's not a matter of having bees/insects and such for pollination because peppers, like tomatoes, are self-pollinating.

Heat is a factor though. Although the plant itself grows well in high heat the pollen becomes non-viable at higher temps. You might try "thumping" the flowers in the mornings, Lee Anne, to help with pollen transfer before the temps begin to rise.

I always recommend to feed peppers a breakfast, lunch, dinner regimen. Feed/fertilize at plant out time, side-dress when you see flowers coming on, and one last time towards the end of the season to help the last of the peppers gain in size.

Lastly, the only thing I can think of is your sandy soil probably heating up a bit too.

It's too late to get any peppers now Shoe they've only got maybe 3 weeks before first frost.

Heat makes sense...last year we had tons of peppers and it was a cooler summer...I didn't need to wear shorts except for maybe 3 days. This summer I've been in shorts every day this past month.

Darn. Welp, yet another reason to have an underground railroad from NC to Canada, to sneak in peppers for ya.
