Beautiful plants guys. 😀

Thanks for the info on Superthrive. I have only been using a granule fertilizer every 3 months. Thought to give them a growth boost 😊

Thank you. You are all very kind. I like orchids very much but I have only a few ones. I don't have a greenhouse and I only grow those that can stay outdoors all year long.

I love that Vanda, Ibis. Does she have a name? Now that it has begun to bloom, hopefully yours will be a several-time-a-year bloomer like my two have become. Each of mine bloomed four times from spring through summer. I wish I could grow more Vanda but because they are in hanging baskets, they simply take up too much room.

Alice - thank you! This was also from the Lowe's clearance rack, like my sad little desert rose, but I think I got lucky with this one Smiling

Lindsey - thank you! I didn't know what color it was, so I'm pleasantly surprised!

That's something (Vanda) that in all the years looking for orchid bargains at our Lowe's, I have never seen. Generally all that's available here are the Phal. and even with them, they never seem to reduce the price more than 50%. For a $24.95 plant, that still ends up costing $12.50. In my eyes, that's not even a bargain.

Gorgeous color on that Vanda, Ibis!

I would faint if the local Lowe's around here ever sold Vandas.

Beautiful orchids everyone. I'm just lurking and drooling with all the beautiful blooms. I can't choose, which one is my favorite. I love them all. Here are my blooms.

The Lowe's here sells bag Vandas for $12.50 apiece. They are tiny but look to be healthy. I think I'll stick with Apopka where they sell huge plants with 3 feet of roots for $12.00. Apart from that, Phals are the only choice and are indeed over priced. The only thing I buy there are Spathoglottis for $7.50.

Jim, is $7.50 per Spathoglottis a good price? With sales tax it comes to probably more like $8.25. Perhaps y'all don't have sales tax. How large are they (Spath.) at Lowe's. Is this typically a single plant or multiple plants per pot? Sorry for the questions. I have never seen an Spath. here for sale, much less a Vanda.

The big Vandas in bloom sold out very fast here, so none made it to the markdown rack. I've scored on the 'babies in a bag' once where they had a whole bunch of them marked down to half price. The one I bought is still small but healthy. Hope it blooms some day . . .

My Lowe's store marks the Phals down to half price as soon as they stop blooming, then sometimes they clear them out for half again off the sale price so for $4 to $6 I buy one sometimes. But Jim's so right, Apopka prices beat all deals around here.

Ken, the Spaths we get at Lowes are gallon size, packed with pseudobulbs with 2ft. foliage and usually in bloom.
