May I please have some advice on sowing seeds? I just ordered some and would like to get started. Thanks, Julie

froggiesgirl,
It might be worth checking out some threads here on the Adenium forum. Go to home page of all Adenium threads and at top right hand corner of screen. There is a 'search' window. Type into it
"start from seed" and click spy glass. It will show multiple threads that will be of great assistance.
Please check back on this thread afterwards to clarify things.

Someone else may come by and give more advise. I just find that there is so much information logged in here, that if one checks through it. It usually gives them an overall idea and then we can help more. Just a thought. It is not that I myself do not want to help.

Welcome! froggiesgirl

I agree with Rick about searching threads.

Adenium seeds do not require any more than what you would normally do for other seeds you have sprouted in the past.

@drdawg is from Mississippi as well. He could advise for your area.

Julie, take a moment to go to your "Profile" and update it to include your location. That way, every time you post a question, answer, or statement, your location will show in the upper right-hand corner. Knowing where you are is almost always helpful when answering questions.

I've searched the files and have found great advice. I think I will wait until the holidays are over to plant the seeds. My bay window is filled with Christmas plants right now, and that is the window I will use for seed starting. I'll post pics as I go!

Julie, I think your USDA zone is now 9A. You will need to check on this but Mrs. Mayfield told me her zone is a full zone warmer than mine here in Starkville, and I am in 8A.

Ken, some charts put me in 8b and some in 9a. I just go with 8b because that's what I've always used. Just habit. LOL

When the USDA moved us from 7b to 8a, y'all were moved from 8b to 9a. Those charts still showing you to be in 8b are simply outdated charts. At least that is my understanding. No big deal. Sticking tongue out

I'll take 9a; means that I can grow more tropicals! Hilarious!
